The Brandon Lee Spight Memorial Foundation (BLSMF) was founded on December 3, 2008. It originated to celebrate Brandon who fell critically ill with an Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) and passed away at the age of 17, on February 11, 2007.
To further honor Brandon’s memory, the foundation is on a journey to endow a scholarship at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School & Academy in his name.
After Brandon passed away, in keeping with Brandon’s expressed desire, his organs were donated. He lives on in five people who received his organs and he will live on at the University of Detroit Jesiut High School & Academy through students who benefit from the endowed fund.
Brandon had a plan for his life. He was on his way to college and looking forward to playing college golf. He wanted to play professional golf but was wise enough to have a “Plan B”, which was to obtain a law degree.
This is the foundation's "Plan B"...Giving to Others, in memory of the unexpected tragic loss of Brandon Lee Spight.
